Test Your Golfing Skills (or Lack of) at The Golf Park
Golf, until recently was regarded as a sport of prestige and the high society, though it still is a game of prestige, anyone with an interest can now play the game, without being a member of a club. The golf park is Kenya's first full length pay and play golf course. Located along ngong road at the ngong race course Jockey Club, the 9-hole golf course and driving range have been built in the middle of the ngong race course providing a unique setting of golf.
The golf park aims at providing guests with a more affordable golfing experience on a first class playing surface. As a public facility, any golfer with an understanding of the rules and etiquette of golf will be allowed to play the course. The driving range, which is where golfers practice their swing, is open to everyone, from experienced golfers to people trying golf for the very first time.
The golf park holds weekly and monthly competitions that any golfer is allowed to participate. Weekly competitions are 9-hole and held every Wednesday afternoon. Weekly golf clinics are held on Tuesdays at 5:15 pm. The clinics are geared for beginners and a place in the clinic must be booked in advance. Charges for attending a golf clinic are 300ksh and all equipment is provided.
The course and driving range are open from 6:30am-6:30pm seven days a week, but plans are underway for the driving range to be floodlit, to allow guests to practice until 10pm each night, the golf park also has a pro shop where a guest can hire or purchase golfing gear, from golf clubs to golf caps. There is also has a snack bar where guests can grab a bite. Clinics for junior golfers can be arranged during the school holidays.
This introduces the young potential golfers to the world of professional golf. Schools are welcomed to contact the golf park management if they wish to use the facilities. The golf park facilities are also available for corporate days. Companies can hire the facilities to entertain their clients or staff.
The facility is also available for private functions of up to 500 guests. Did you know that golfers are required to follow a dress code? Players are not allowed to be dressed in denim jeans! When you need a moment after work, or during weekends with friends at a serene environment, for only a thousand shillings per person, just ask..., anybody for golf...?
